Everything you need to know about The 5 Chairs video series

The 5 Chairs Trailer

In a previous soundbite (here), I shared a plan to create online versions of some of my products. This was in response to the global pandemic and a rapid shift to virtual working, which has seen more of us using Zoom to connect than ever before. With Zoom at the forefront of my mind, a group of us developed a five-part series of videos to help people learn about The 5 Chairs.

Behind the Virtual Scene

The 5 Chairs project took a year of virtual planning, filming and post-production. And yes, we did everything on Zoom! Our team consisted of people working virtually in the US, Italy, Australia and the Philippines. Fun fact: some of our Australian team have still not met in person!! The production itself presented plenty of challenges, such as timezone management, availability and creative differences of opinion. However, in overcoming each of these challenges, we have developed a special bond of trust, respect and care.  That is why The 5 Chair series is not just a leadership and coaching product to me, but also a reminder of how important it is to be flexible and to collaborate in order to achieve big goals.

Sneak Peek to The 5 Chairs series

The series tells the story of a global senior executive who goes on a journey of personal transformation using the 5 Chairs Methodology created by Louise Evans. Every chair represents choices he makes in response to a given situation. In the red chair, the Jackal, we attack. In the yellow chair, the Hedgehog, we operate from a place of self-doubt.  In the green chair, the Meerkat, we wait and reflect on our choices. In the blue chair, the Dolphin, we communicate our needs, feelings and wants. And in the purple chair, the Giraffe, we connect with dignity, empathy and understanding.

The story of the chairs is a way of evaluating our own behaviour, through the looking glass of successful leader, JD Holden who is at a crossroads in his life. Check out the trailer here and if you would like to know more, contact me a support@thepeoplefactor.com.au.
